Josie Ho

Interview: Robert Piper

Robert Piper: What inspires you in life?

Josie Ho: A lot of things inspire me. Music, for one; in addition to acting, I’m also a musician. Singing is actually something that I practice almost every day and definitely at the top of my inspirational list.

Also, this past summer, I attended the 2014 Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week as a VIP to some of the show presentations, including Elie Saab’s collection. Getting to meet designers of that caliber is always an inspiring experience.

My puppies play a daily role in inspiring me too! But most of all, my husband, Conroy Chan, inspires me in life. He’s always there to help keep me going.

RP: How do you stay healthy?

JH: I try to get plenty of sleep every single night so that I wake up each morning feeling fully rested. That is one of the most important practices for someone who wants to lead a healthy lifestyle. And do not forget to drink a lot of water to stay feeling good. Water is essential to life! It’s also great for keeping your skin looking good and healthy, which is an added bonus.

As far as activities go, having a regular exercise routine is a must. Getting outdoors is always fun. In the summertime, I like to go waterskiing and swimming; during the winter, I’ll sometimes go jogging or hiking.

RP: How do you find balance in your life?

JH: Well, I do have a busy work life. So I would say that the positive atmosphere at home combined with the support I receive from my family and loved ones is really what helps me balance it all. And I always say to myself when things get too hectic, “Don’t sweat the small stuff!”

RP: Any new projects that you’re working on?

JH: I’ll be starring with Ekin Cheng in the feature film Full Strike, directed by Derek [Chikin] Kwok, to be released this Easter. It’s a comedy about my all-time favorite sport, badminton. Exciting, funny, romantic—all that good stuff.

In addition to acting in and producing film projects, I have a band called Josie & The Uni Boys. I’m working on promoting our new album all over China right now. The title is The Electrifying Supernatural Lady Land. Please check it out!

RP: Are you involved in any charities?

JH: Yes, I’m involved with a couple. Every year, I donate to the Children’s Cancer Fund, and I’m also the ambassador for the AIDS Concern Foundation.

Josie Ho is an actress, producer, and singer. She has appeared in Contagion, Open Grave, and Naked Ambition.
